All About Me!

Hi!  I'm Shanna, a third grade teacher, athlete, wife, dog lover and the designer behind this third grade webpage.

I have been teaching for 8 years and I have taught second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth grade.  My husband was in the military and so I have had the opportunity to move and teaching a variety of different places such as Hawaii, Georgia, Massachusetts and currently California.  However, through all of my different experiences, I have discovered that third grade is special and I plan to continue teaching it, unless I am asked to loop with my kids.

I have a masters degree in Educational Psychology from Marist College and an undergraduate degree in Elementary/Special Education.  Through my teaching experiences, I have found that I enjoy working with children at all levels, but particularly intervention students.

My husband and I have decided to settle here in Santa Monica, California with my husband and our dog Rex.  We love living here and enjoy an active beach lifestyle.

I started this blog because I love teaching and want to connect with other teachers that share the same passion.  I am excited to connect with other educators and I am always eager to learn more about this amazing profession!
